Passive aerator
The Gamatechnik passive aerator slits the top layer of soil so that it is no longer as compacted as before, giving water and air better access to the roots. It also removes thatch and moss, clearing away everything that stands in the way of lush lawn growth.
The lawn is slit by metal spikes mounted on a rotating drum. For high wear resistance the spikes are made of Hardox steel.
To make each pass over the lawn more effective, the Gamatechnik passive aerator has two slitting rollers.
The machine is extremely simple: nothing on it is driven by the tractor's PTO. The slitting drums are turned by the resistance of the soil under the lawn.
There are no hydraulic motors or cylinders either. Even the working depth is set only by the machine's ballast, which you change by adding or removing weights.
Since no active drive or hydraulic supply is needed, all you need to work with this aerator is a tractor with a working three-point linkage. Because the Gamatechnik aerator has very low rolling resistance, this can be a light tractor (e.g. Ursus C-360) or a similar garden tractor.
Slitting depth: up to 5 cm, depending on soil and moisture conditions and the machine's ballast.
The aerators are available in five versions with working widths of 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4 metres.
